Dear Friends and Neighbors:

I sincerely thank the kind voters of Hoover who placed their trust and faith in me by casting your vote for Jimmie Brown in the election on Tuesday, August 26, 2008.  I am humbled and highly appreciative of your support.  Your confidence in me has allowed me to compete in the upcoming runoff and with your continued support I am sure we will prevail.  This is a very exciting time for me as I press on for the opportunity to serve you in the council.
Please remind your friends, neighbors and family to vote for me.  The runoff election is OCTOBER 7, 2008.

I continue to believe that the experiences I have gained over the previous years will aid me in being an effective council person.  My extensive experience in budget related matters at the federal and city government level, personnel selection and promotion, and a host of other employment related issues are useful tools for a council person.  As a seventeen year resident of Hoover, I have a vested and ongoing interest in our schools, having graduated two sons and a daughter currently in eighth grade.

I am a native Alabamian (returned to Alabama in 1991), who’s military experience as a paratrooper; a Staff Sergeant (serving in South Korea); resided in seven other states; and other extensive travel over a twenty-five year period have provided me with a broad perspective on life.

I also take great pride in my twenty-two year career as an FBI Special Agent and FBI Supervisory Special Agent.  I have conducted and/or supervised a wide variety of investigative matters. The sensitivity, integrity and ethics required in the handling of these matters are paramount.

When elected, I will use this same honesty, integrity, experience, and commitment in representing the citizens of Hoover on the Council.  I urge you to take advantage of my experience and compassion for my city. I therefore make this appeal for your vote on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

Please stroll through the site for additional details regarding my experience and educational background.  I also welcome further opportunities to discuss my position on various issues with individuals and/or group settings.  Please contact me at (205) 978-2327- office or (205) 915-5162.  Requests can be made via Jimbrownforhoovercitycouncil@yahoo.com, or PO Box 36563 Birmingham, AL 35236.
Jimmie (Jim) Brown
